In August we rafted the Lower Salmon River and the Snake River with a group of 13 friends from Oregon. We covered 65 miles in 4 days.
One night a big dry lightening storm came through and caught the mountain straight across from us on fire. It rained later that night and kept the fire at bay. In the morning we watched as helicopters drew water from the river by us and put out the fire. It was quite a show!
The weather was hot, near 100 degrees. We were jumping in the river and floating down to keep cool.
We had 2 rafts, 2 big catarafts, 3 mini catarafts and 1 kayak in our group. When we reached the Snake River the head winds were so great we had to motor out to our take out point.
It was a beautifully scenic trip and a lot of fun!
