Hell's Canyon fishing trip in July

In July Don, Larry, Claude and Pete camped and went
fishing in Hell's Canyon. They caught some big trout and lots of bass and a 4 foot sturgeon. The boat had trouble and they had to head home a couple of days early. The day after they left a big storm tore through the area where they had been camping with rain and winds up to 70 mph.
I think it was meant to be.

A rare lynx sighting. Double click on the image to see it up close.

Double click to check out the lynx's bobbed tail and tufted ears. Pretty cool.

Rafting with Chris, Eric & Kayla

This was a fun trip on the Payette River with my sister Chris, nephew Eric and niece Kayla. A week before there had a been a storm that caused some major mudslides in the river so the water was very muddy.

Here they are "after they flipped and got
back into the kayak.

Family get togethers this summer.

Claude & Kyong came out to visit in July this summer. We had a nice week with them.
MaryDell was enjoying having her kids at home.

Sorry this shot is fuzzy, it's the only recent one I have of Tosha. My camera did something wierd.
Anglique came out to visit in August. It was good to see her. It had been a few years.

6 Day Raft Trip on the Salmon River

In June we took a 6 day raft trip on the Main Salmon River. We launched at Corn Creek near Shoup ID, and rafted 85 miles across the state and took out at Vinegar Creek near Riggins. We had 13 friends, 5 rafts and 2 kayaks in our group.

The water level was high, we had several Class 4 rapids on the trip. One raft in our group flipped but everyone was all right. You can see Don and I got some air in this rapid.

Don & I with Christina in our raft.

We had reservations on some beaches for camping. One night we had no reservation and had a difficult time finding a beach that had enough space for our rafts.

This is a typical camp scene. We had a fully supplied kitchen with cookstove and grill and a "groover tent" (outhouse). Our tents were scattered around the beach.

It was an awesome trip with incredible scenic beauty!
